Mission Statement

Jeep Country Federal Credit Union is a member owned financial cooperative that is committed to providing friendly, personal, convenient and competitive services to its member owners. The Credit Union desires to build lasting relationships with our members in order to enable our members to achieve financial well being while maintaining the Credit Union's financial strength.

OUR HISTORY

Jeep Country FCU was originally founded in 1938 as the Willys Federal Credit Union serving employees of the Willys-Overland Motors, Inc. As the company's owners changed, the name evolved to Jeep Federal Credit Union. As the credit union grew through the addition of select employer groups, the name was changed to Jeep Country Federal Credit Union. Membership in Jeep Country FCU is available to employees of the Jeep Assembly Plant and many more select employer groups and their families. You too can now join JCFCU.

What is a credit union?

Credit unions are not-for-profit financial cooperatives serving members who share something in common-employment, association membership, or residence in a particular geographic area. More than 70 million U.S. consumers are member-owners of, and receive all or part of their financial services from, the nation's 12,047 credit unions.

Philosophy and Structure

Credit unions are democratically owned and controlled institutions based on 'people helping people' principles. Credit union boards of directors are elected by members; each member has an equal vote, regardless of how much he or she has on deposit. Only members may serve as directors, and directors serve without compensation. Credit unions have no outside stockholders, so after reserves are set aside, earnings are returned to members in the form of higher dividends on savings, lower loan rates and lower cost services.
